  The Meet & Greet. We begin every project with what we call a “meet & greet” at the site, where we talk about what you have in mind, review your wish list and determine if we’re a good fit. We want every project to be the start of a long-term relationship, so we need to be sure—for both of us—that the chemistry is right.

 

  The Ballpark Guess-timate (if applicable). Once we understand what your project entails, we provide you with a “snapshot” based on our historical records and unit costs. This isn’t a final quote, but it gives you an idea of what the costs are likely to be.

 

  The Design Process. If you decide to move forward, and depending on the scope and complexity of the project, we may suggest choosing a design team. You may have magazine cutouts, photos of something you like, or even rough sketches, and if we can keep it simple, we will. But there are literally dozens of choices to make when remodeling kitchens or bathrooms or even just changing your deck. The design process can be overwhelming, and having an architect or designer at your side helps make everything go a lot more smoothly with much less stress!

 

  Retainer Agreement. If you wish to proceed after the design is determined, we will request a small retainer fee which is deducted from the contract cost should you authorize the actual work. If you decide to stop here, you will have a detailed Scope of Work for future use.

 

  The Scope of Work. Once you have finalized your design elements and overall look, and have chosen all your materials, we can begin assembling the Scope of Work document and accompanying cost figures. At this point, we will schedule site visits where you can meet Projects’ approved trade contractors (our “Dream Team”) who will review your job and provide us with costs for their portion of the work. Our objective here is to answer your questions and identify any gray areas prior to start of the work. Once we receive all the contractors’ costs associated with your project, we will create a very detailed Scope of Work that explains the total price involved.

 

Reaching an Agreement and Starting Construction. You now know the Scope of Work, a budget has been determined, and the agreement has been signed. You will receive the detailed Scope of Work and Schedule, which gives projected timelines for each phase of your project. Construction starts and your dream project becomes a reality! Both Cherilyn and Christi will remain actively involved in your project, working together to meet the building schedule, ensure quality and cost control, coordinate all work done, answer your questions, and address any new ideas you may have.

 

  Project Completion. At this point, just before we say our last farewells, we do a final walk-through together to be sure all items are finished and that your project meets with your high standards, as well as ours. After we get the “thumbs up,” we leave you to your newly remodeled project for you to enjoy for years to come.
